Lets get straight into this one. You can do these in any order, but this is the order we done them in.

Bakery & Coffee Shop - Alex Gooch

This is a fully plant based bakery and coffee shop with A LOT of delicious options. You cannot go wrong! They are also dog friendly.

We spent £16.10 for 2 coffee's and 2 pastries.

Located about half way down Monmouth highstreet. Look out for the grey building.

Lots of free on street parking available a short 5 minute walk away. We usually park here.

Cycling

We hired our bikes from www.pedalabikeaway.co.uk but there are many bike rental services located all around the Forest of Dean. We just found this the most convenient for our plan.

Located here It's just a short 15 to 20 minute drive from Puzzlewood.

Prices

There are many options and combinations for bike hire available that you can find on their website. Including trailers, e-bikes and tandem bikes. We chose the cheaper/basic bikes better suited for the family trail. Costing us £25 per bike for the full day.

Parking costs us £7.50 for up to 4hours. Not exactly a fun amount to pay. But there aren't any other options nearby.

They provide helmets with every hire. But we brought our own.

Here is the family trail map:

Mallards Pike is a great place to stop for a mid cycle break. We recommend bringing a bike lock and having an explore around.

Total price for the day for us came to

£93.40 (excluding fuel and our little mid cycle treat)

We hope this is useful.

Happy Trecking!
